Sonographic Images, Doppler Waveforms, and AIT-SIC Images
Sonographic Images
Diagnostic ultrasound images highlight the typical sonographic appearances of both normal and pathologic conditions commonly seen at the imaging lab.
Doppler Waveforms
Doppler waveforms described and correlated with color flows and normal vs. pathologic conditions.
AIT-SIC Questions
Questions that simulate 'Semi-Interactive Console' items are marked throughout. These ask you to identify the problem with an image—or the way to correct it.

Title: makes it so easy to understand the concepts and some of the board ...
Review: I passed the SPI using only Edleman and this book. This book is a must, it really preps you for the actual exam, makes it so easy to understand the concepts and some of the board questions were actually some of the Davies practice questions. Highly recommend!

Title: helped me pass my spi!
Review: I am so happy I bought this book!! I took the so I the first time and failed. After failing I searched for something to help me study for it again and came across this book with great reviews. I used this in conjunction with the edlemanns physics review spiral book that you get from his seminars. Without this book and its questions I don't know if I would have passed t the second time. It really prepared me for the types of questions to expect on the test. However, I do not reccomened this book as the only study material be it wouldn't be enough. You would need a base to study by, this just simply tests your knowledge and prepares you for the questions.

Title: Pretty Good
Review: I recently graduated from an accredited ultrasound program and I bought this book as a review. I also reviewed my physics textbook and powerpoint notes and tests from my physics classes (2 semesters worth) to prepare for the SPI. I passed the SPI on the first try but there's no way I would have passed ONLY with this review book. Let me say though that every person's test is different. The questions come from a bank so I think some tests are much harder than others. Others in my class told me questions that were on their tests and they all seemed pretty straightfoward. My test was VERY difficult, and had MANY questions that I had never seen before (ex. what is poise a measure of? the answer was viscosity). I would say this reviewbook covers about 50% of what was on my exam. The other 25% that was not in the book was covered in my school coursework and the other 25% I completely guessed. The only area from the SPI score report that said "may require further study" was Doppler instrumentation and hemodynamics. I got "excellent" in patient care, safety, and communication and "satisfactory" in the other 4 areas. I studied for 7 days about 6 hours a day and I made flashcards based on my textbook, class powerpoints, old tests, and this reviewbook. I completed the test with 30 minutes to spare. This book does cover a lot of topics that are on the SPI and will prepare you for the TYPES of questions that are on the SPI but the actual questions are different. Good Luck!!

Title: Great Investment:
Review: I bought this book to study for the ARDMS Sonographic Principles and Instrumentation Exam. My college course was a two-part series and we covered almost everything that was in this book, but there were some terminology differences between my class and questions in this book. Many of the questions on the exam seemed to come straight out of this book. This book helped me get over 95% of the questions on the exam correct. I would recommend it to anyone taking the SPI. I was really stressed about taking the exam but this book more than adequately prepared me for the test. To anyone taking the exam- good luck! And try not to stress because it is not nearly as hard as people make it out to be- especially if you buy this book!!!

Title: Many of the questions were on the registry
Review: I am very glad that I purchased this book.Even though I did find a mistake or two, most of the questions helped. Many of the questions were similar to the ones on the registry! The Edelman book was not enough. This book is more up to date.WARNING: Only Q&A, there are no in-depth explanations so you will have to get that elsewhere.

Title: Read it over and over
Review: First of all this is a REVIEW book. My learning book was: Understanding ultrasound physics by Edelman. I went though all the questions a few times and I pass the test. I would totally recomend this book.
