Title: Once piece construction
Review: I purchased four 4-packs of these lug nuts to replace the original two-piece nuts on my 2005 Mustang GT with 17-inch wheels that were damaged beyond use by overzealous mechanics going nuts with impact wrenches. The thread pattern matches, but the hex-head is a different size (3/4 inch Vs. 13/16 inch on the original) so the stock lug nut wrench with the car will not fit.These are well constructed one-piece acorn style nuts that look same as the stock. Two of the packages appeared to have rusted nuts inside, but upon opening the rust color was on the packaging and NOT the nuts. I wrote McGard and they said the following,“The internal portion of our lugs are not plated as to avoid complications with torque values or thread imperfections. That being said we do coat the inside with a solution to avoid any rust or corrosion during the shipping or shelf life of our locks. This is an uncommon occurrence but in some cases the solution we apply will dry out and shake free from inside of the lug and fall into the packaging or lay as a surface blemish on the lug nut itself. This is purely a cosmetic issue that can be wiped away with a dry cloth and does not compromise the safety or effectiveness of fastening your wheel.”I found this to be an accurate statement.

Review: It's good to see a product made in the US. These lug nuts are very good quality and are importantly 1 piece unlike the OEM installed 2 piece lug nuts in my 5th Wheel trailer. I would recommend these as a replacement.

Title: Solid, nice looking lug nuts, but with some apparent rust residue inside
Review: These lug nuts are nice looking and solid. We purchased several sets for all the wheels on our vehicle. Similar to some other reviews, a few of the packages had noticeable rust powder inside the packaging (while others did not), which appeared to come from inside the lug nuts. Not sure about the manufacturing quality control systems, as it seems odd that this would occur in some sets, while other sets are normal as expected. We used the lug nuts anyway, rather than returning and hoping for "cleaner" sets.

Review: The nuts arrived pre-rusted. I cleaned them up and torqued to specs. I did not lube the threads. They cost more than the Chinese ones but I think they are worth it.

Review: Definitely one of the best lug nut brands out there. I've been using these all year round on my vehicle for over a year now (summer/winter) and there isn't a spec of rust on them. This is of note because generally the cheaper lug nuts will start to rust anywhere that they have taken abuse from impact guns. These have been to the tire shop twice, where they were subjected to their impact gun, plus all of the times I've had them on and off (by hand) at home for wheel swaps and rotations, and they look absolutely brand new! I highly recommend McGard.
