GMT Games: The Plum Island Horror The Plum Island Horror is a 1 to 4 player game featuring cooperative play that combines tactical-level unit management with a tower-defense style survival mechanic. Each player will control one of six unique factions which represent the various groups that populate Plum Island. Each of these Factions has its own strengths and weaknesses, and the system encourages you to optimize for the group’s strengths and marginalize its weaknesses. Players must coordinate with one another, and the resulting synergy will hopefully be enough to successfully evacuate a city under siege and contain the horrific outbreak that threatens to spread beyond the island itself. If the players can succeed, they will win together, and the world will most likely be none the wiser to the averted crisis. If not, they will lose together and share the blame equally for failing humankind.COMPONENTSOne Mounted Game Board (22” x 34”)One RulebookOne Reference Guide124 Playing CardsSix Player Faction MatsTwo NPC/Horror Mutations Faction MatsFive Player Aids (4 Action Cards, 1 VIP Civilians/ Quick Reference)One Game Track SideboardTwo Cloth BagsSix Custom Combat Dice70 Murder of Horrors Tiles39 Cardboard Standees with Plastic Stands83 Wooden Cubes210 Cardboard Markers

Title: Fantastic game and great quality
Review: Zombicide meets tower defense! I recommend a corner clipper for the horrors, 26mm Coin capsules, GMT chut trays, and 124 standard card sleeces.Great solo game as well as up to 4 players. Unlike other coop games, you do not have to have power gamers that control ideas. You can literally work independently towards the same goal. Since it is tower defense style, you can state you are handling your paths, unless you ask for assistance, which will likely happen due to special horrors. Way different than trying to head to certain location and achieve a task, which leads to controlling player issues.Fantastic quality for the price. Great tutorials online, and the basics are easy to understand intuitively. Love this game!

Title: Fabulous, well balanced GMT game
Review: This is a game with lots of tactical opportunities to explore. GMT produces a great product, at a good price, and this game, and while not a war game, it feels like the other GMT family of games (layout, design, chits). But has a better user friendly design imo. The game, particular the mechanics and movement system benefit from GMT experience, so make the game relatively simple to set up and play, and there are how-to-play videos on Boardgame geek that help. Fabulous rules. The Horrors are essentially zombies. It’s a defence and escape game, where people are counting on you to save then to leave Plum Island town of Greenport or die, and be regenerated as Horrors. Great with solo play. It takes longer to play than it suggests, add on half an hour.I’m rating the game 9/10 as it’s immersive and tactically challenging. Oh and fun.
