Title: The perforations in these plates are too small to use a lighter to light the grill's burners.
Review: I purchased these heat plates to replace the OEM vaporizer plates for my American Outdoor Grill. While I was initially impressed with the gauge of these plates (thicker than the original AOG plates), it became immediately apparent that it was impossible to light the burners of my grill because the plate perforations are too small to allow a grill lighter to pass through the plate. As those who use gas grills well know, burner electrodes have a notoriously short life inside the grill and below the vaporizer plates, they are quite expensive, and difficult to replace after being exposed for a time within the grill environment. As such, most gas grillers that I know generally use hand-held grill lighters to light their burners once the electrodes burn up; that is simply not possible with these plates. The only way to light up the burner would therefore be to at least partially disassemble the grill by removing a grid from above the heat plate, remove the heat plate from above the burner, light the burner, and then reassemble these pieces while the burner is lit. These heat plates are comparatively inexpensive, but that's just too much to ask for the money saved.Another complaint I have on these heat plates is the workmanship. The plate perforations are clearly made by a punching operation, and the back side of these plates have not been de-burred at all. The unwary will tear their finders up on these relatively large burrs when trying to handle these plates. Again, the savings here are simply not worth the problems. If you must have cheap, be prepared for troubles with these plates. I will be returning them as soon as possible.

Title: Not uniform
Review: Solid metal quality, but the actual shape not uniform. So, when setting them in the grill, they are bigger gaps then there should be, which creates an uneven cooking surface temperature. Also, OEM plates have a large hole that allows a lighter to pass through (assuming your ignitor switch will eventually fail). These do not have that. Would likely look to another seller in the future.
