Mycology Basics Rye Berries are the cleanest Rye Grain you can buy, and it's not even close. This is because our Rye is washed, washed and washed again. Triple washing Rye allows for more errant seeds, stalks, dust & debris to be removed. Not only this, but our Rye is grown Organically & Regeneratively - meaning it has a higher protien content, better flavor profile and a higher hydrated weight than other Rye farmed non-organically. Whether you're hydrating your Rye to use as grainspawn, milling it to use as flour, or creating a Rye Mash to distil your own spirits, you'll be happy much happier with our clean Rye.
The cleanest Rye money can buy - you will not frequently find other grain types or sticks within your order, and you will not need to wash the grain nearly as much as other grain
Washed for longer and at a higher temperature to reduce contams when used for Mycological purposes, and preserved in a resealable bag for easy storage
Rehydrates to approximately 2x the dry mass of the grains as purchased, as opposed to 1.7x with other inferior quality rye grains
The official rye berries of choice for many Midwestern breweries and distilleries due to it's extra clean nature and high protien content
Certified OMRI Organic/non-GMO, and grown using regenerative farming practices - this results in higher nutrient density and less environmental impact

Title: Super clean!
Review: Very impressed with how clean the rye berries are. I rinsed them in a bucket to clean them up and the water stayed completely clear! Turns out I’d need not rinse these at all. Thank you for producing a clean high quality product at a fair price.

Title: really good quality grain
Review: Love this grain, it's super clean and doesn't have anything in the entire bag like any twigs\debris so it's super easy to prepare to make grain jars. Absorbs water really well after 24 hours too, really excellent grain for grain jars. Order a 5lb bag, finished that in a couple of weeks and order 10lbs more, really satisfied with this quality.

Title: I use these to add to my sourdough starter
Review: These work great to boost my sourdough starter. really helps it rise. I just grind maybe half a cup at a time and use that for feeding. So the seeds stay as fresh as possible. Great value for the price.

Title: Sprouted because I wasn’t aware how to sterilize
Review: To properly get this grain ready you have to soak and then boil them in water so they do not sprout. The seller was super helpful in reaching out and helping me figure out what I did wrong.

Title: DO NOT BUY, MAGGOT/ PEST INVEFESTED- BAGS NOT SEALED PROPERLY
Review: I was using this rye for a while. I thought it was weird that rye would stick to the bag with silk-like strings and hang down. I got about halfway through the first 10lb bag before I started to see dead bugs, moths, and larvae on the side of the bag. I threw that bag away and opened up the one that was still sealed, which was even WORSE. The pictures are from the bag that was supposed to be sealed 30 seconds after opening it. This one has dead larvae on top. DO NOT BUY!This biohazard trash was $2 more than actual human consumption grade rye. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM MYCOLOGY BSICS AGAIN! I recommend that my fellow Hobbists do the same.GARBAGE PRODUCTGARBAGE COMPANY
