Title: Better than I expected
Review: I wanted to install a light on my KSG but had some concerns. I did not want to put one on the top rail, as that would obscure my sight picture over the rail. I did not want to install it on the bottom rail, as that would cause it to jerk back and forth during cycling. What to do? I ordered this side rail from Hi-Tech. I had some reservations because I did not understand how it attached to the KSG. I was very happy to discover that this rail is designed specifically to attach to the front sling mount, which is connected to the upper. It is fitted perfectly and even with only two screws is unquestionably stable.I am very happy with this purchase and have no complaints whatsoever.

Title: Careful of hand placement
Review: I tend to rack it with my thumb pointed same direction as the barrel and cut my thumb and nail down the center by jamming it while racking it so be careful. It works great though

Title: Easy to mount-Stable-Room for attachments
Review: Bit expensive for what it is but it is nice to have light in fixed position; as opposed to the pump of my KSG12.

Title: Great. If you run a vertical grip on the slide.
Review: Fits great. Great quality. Shot about 250 rounds through it the other day and this mount did not come loose. Only gripe is if you have larger hands like I do and you want to run the slide with a traditional grip (not vertical) it can be in the way of your thumb when bringing back forward.

Title: Excellent design that stays on strong after many rounds
Review: Installation was quick and easy. It stays on strong too. I've put about a hundred rounds of 2.75" and 3" shells through the KSG since installing this and my Streamlight flashlight has remained in place with no wobble or wiggle. As with any tactical shotgun, check the tension of all connections after each range outing. I've done this after each shoot and did not notice anything to be concerned about with the side rail or flashlight.

Title: Works Great!
Review: Gives an additional spot for mounting a light that's out of the way and handy. Rock solid.

Title: Great light base for KSG
Review: Well made and seems sturdy. Simple to mount. Be aware that because of it's proximity to the pump foregrip, what is mounted on it may interfere with your hand on the foregrip. Not a concern if you plan on using a vertical grip on the front.

Title: Pros & cons but overall it works
Review: First of all this item is grossly overpriced but it seems to be the only game in town so they have you over a barrel and they know it. 1 tally for American greed. I also didn't like the fact that the rail, once installed, is in the path of your support hand and could certainly cut your thumb during shell cycling, depending which side you mount it. I initially wanted to mount it on the left since I could manipulate my light switch easiest. Since the clearance didn't allow for that, I mounted it on the right and did my best to work with the awkward placement. Also, my Insight M3 fit loosely on the rail so maybe the machine tolerances could be set slightly wider. I tried an Olight and it fit well but it has spring a assisted rail clamp. For the money, it should come with an optional shorter rail since the long rail has too much real estate for a simple light attachment. Overall the rail does what it's supposed to and seems sturdy enough, though I wouldn't think to put it through a torture test. If the rail was to get snagged on something, it wouldn't hold up to much force given the leverage factor of it being such a long rail with a single point attachment to the sling loop. I would recommend this product as it does the job intended and is machined with decent quality.
