The first authentic CuNiFe-magnet-powered Wide Range pickup in more than 40 years delivers rich bell-like humbucking tone with full bass and clear treble. CuNiFe pickups have “hi-fi” clarity yet never lose their attack and definition no matter how hard they are pushed. A chrome cover with a “3+3” exposed pole piece design and Fender logo completes the vintage-’70s vibe. As popular music roared with the fatter tones of humbuckers at the dawn of the 1970s, Fender hired acclaimed pickup designer Seth Lover to create a distinctly Fender-flavored take on a higher-output dual-coil pickup. The resulting Wide Range pickup used large bobbins and threaded CuNiFe-rod magnets to achieve its distinctively brilliant sound, as heard on that era’s Telecaster Custom, Thinline and Deluxe guitars. Sought after by musicians of all genres for decades, the original-era real CuNiFe-magnet pickups disappeared when the Telecaster Custom was discontinued in 1979.

Title: Fits and functions in Squier Telecaster Custom
Review: All I had to do is replace old "wide range" by desoldering it in two places and soldering the new one in at the same two places. All I had to do was screw it on then. I was shocked when it actually worked in my Squier!

Title: Great with Matching Bridge Pickup in Vintera Tele Deluxe
Review: Fender's "modern" CuNiFe neck and bridge pickups have proven to be a fantastic upgrade to the Fender Vintera '70s Telecaster Deluxe. The stock volume and tone pots are very good, but I also replaced the factory tone caps with Orange Drops. Now, the Vintera Tele stands apart from a Les Paul Tribute equipped with Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II pickups (and enhanced with a StewMac wiring kit). If you can find a deal on a CuNiFe set, they're worth considering.

Title: Says "Bridge" In description. Received A "Neck" Pickup.
Review: Wanted the bridge pickup but they sent me a neck pickup. That's ok. These rereleased CuNiFe are HARD to get, they're out-of-stock pretty much everywhere. One small bummer: The pickup cover has many fine scratches, even though it has the protective clear tape on it. Oh well. Maybe that's why this one is $33 bucks cheaper. Gave it 5 stars anyway because it's an awesome pickup.UPDATE: The Fender Shop had the bridge pickup in-stock and I received that today. The fine scratches are on it, also. Fender does not describe the covers as "aged" but that's obviously what's applied. They look great! The Holy Grail of WRHB's!

Title: Amazing difference
Review: My 2012 American Vintage '72 Custom Telecaster came with the "normal" wide-range humbucker, and it sounded muddy from day one. Always meant to swap it out, but reproduction CuNiFe pickups were $400 and up, and as an amateur musician I just couldn't justify the cost. But along came this Fender version for about half the price, so I pulled the trigger. Immediately the guitar sounded clearer, and it was more responsive to pick attack, and easier to get pinch harmonics and other sensitive noises (and that was just through the Blackstar Fly I have on my workbench). Per the installation manual, make sure you order a 500k tone and volume pot (and make sure they're the correct short, smooth shaft), along with .022uf capacitors (I just went with orange drops), and a soldering kit if you don't already have one. The guitar's now my current favorite for a full, "beefy" tone, above my 2010 Les Paul Traditional.
