Title: Sturdy and easy to carry with you
Review: I've always preferred pocket umbrellas as they're easy to store in my backpack and are priceless in a pinch (the occasional downpour). I live in Massachusetts and this sturdy umbrella has held up well to the rain and moderate levels of wind. Covers a good area, which is useful for those who are carrying things. The one downside I can think of is that it can be a little difficult to collapse the umbrella again. Other than that, this is probably the best pocket umbrella I've purchased (I've owned +/- 5). Worth the extra few dollars in my mind.

Title: Sturdy and Reliable
Review: I've had this for a year now, and I can definitely recommend it. This is a sturdy umbrella, and its auto-open and auto-close mechanisms work reliably, which is great for getting in and out of taxis, buses, subways, stores, etc. (The spring mechanism is tough, so I tend to use the floor or a nearby wall for leverage when compressing it.)The size is a good compromise between coverage and compactness—it's larger than the dinky ones at the drugstore, but will fit easily into a backpack or travelling bag (though not a small purse). Mine is orange, which makes it very easy to identify and improves my visiblity to cars in bad weather. There might be some super-high-performance umbrella that manages to be as useful as this one but also lighter and more compact, which would be nice as it is a bit of a club, but I haven't come across it and I'm pretty satisfied with this one.

Title: 10 Years and Counting!
Review: So this review is coming 10 years after I bought my umbrella. I was recently helping plan for a backpacking trip to Europe and I went back through my purchase history in 2014 to share some items I bought that I thought were the most helpful items I bought back then and used on my first international backpacking trip. A lot of the stuff I bought after lots of online research I ended up not needing, some of it broke or I found other ways to do things but I will tell you that the only thing other than a good microfiber travel towel that I absolutely recommend is this specific umbrella. I took this thing to Europe for a month on a winter backpacking trip and it saved my bacon a couple times. Took it to China where I lived for two years and used it frequently there. I've now had it in Chicago and it's still sitting by the door when I need it for local use in the city or for my international trips. It's still in great shape. I had one little corner where the thread that held it onto the umbrella frame broke but I was able to have someone sew that back on for a few bucks in China and I probably could have done it myself with a needle and thread. That repair was years ago and it's still going strong. I'm shocked I haven't lost it at this point and that it's lasted this long.

Title: The greatest umbrella I have ever owned.
Review: I don't usually write reviews - and yet here I am, writing a review, and for an umbrella, nonetheless. Let me sing you this umbrella's praises though:I live in a city, and walk to work every day. I got really fed up of cheap umbrellas that would break after one use, or invert when a butterfly flapped it's wings too close to me, so I did some digging and came upon this piece of engineering wonder. I kept this thing in my bag every day for more than 6 years, and it never once let me down. I came to write this review because it's finally starting to go, and can you guess which part is actually failing? The Velcro. That's how robust this umbrella is - 6 years of heavy use, and the first issue to come up is that it's been stuck and unstuck so many times that it doesn't want to stick anymore.

Title: Broke after one use
Review: Used the umbrella for the first time on a normal rainy day (no excessive wind or abuse to the umbrella), let it dry, and packed it away. On the next rainy day, the umbrella would extend but not open; the string functioning the pulley for opening the umbrella had snapped. Owned it 4 months.

Title: Used to be awesome, now it just looks and feels CHEAP
Review: UPDATE: lost the one I bought in 2014 and had to buy another. Gotta say the new one just looks and feels WAY cheaper. The metal skeleton holding the umbrella open isn't black like it used to be and doesn't seem as sturdy or high quality either: it looks and feels like any cheap umbrella which didn't use to be the case with the old one. The old one looked and felt more expensive than it was. This one seems like it wouldn't stand a strong wind at all while the old one could and felt like it could. I'm hoping for the best but right off the bat I feel as if I should've looked closer at this listing instead of just trusting the "brand" would've kept the item just the way it was when I bought back in the day. That's what happens with these cheap Chinese manufacturers you just never know in terms of quality. Old review: AWESOME umbrella and exactly what I've been looking for. It is very compact when folded (so you can carry it in your backpack without problems) but not small at all when opened: it's the perfect size! It's also doesn't look cheap, seems to be made of premium materials. An all around good purchase. The automatic folding mechanism seems well made, if it ever breaks I will update the review accordingly.

Review: I bought this umbrella a couple of months ago and put it to good use under the Vancouver rain.I found it holds up really well. It is compact and sturdy. The opening and closing mechanisms are responsive and robust. The only down side for me was that in extremely heavy rain I noticed the seams would drip water slightly. However, for general use, this is a great little umbrella to have tucked away ready for use. Still my everyday carry, especially in the Vancouver climate. If you found my review helpful please click the button below.
