Title: Comprehensive, but difficult to read
Review: I think this is probably the best book on hiking in the Pyrénées, but the print is so small and the way it's organized makes it difficult to read. The price is high, especially when similar information is available on the internet. Sorry I bought it.

Title: Disappointing , insufficient information, French biased
Review: Book has detailed hikes and treks. It is biased toward the French Pyrenees while the Spanish side is more commonly toured , unsnobbish , and cost effective. No index at the bookâs end making it impossible to search. Only sketchy information re accommodation possibilities . Trails are described only via text, while one expects a general trail map for each hike . Friends who used it said that the duration of hikes take twice as much as the book claims, but the elevation gains and losses are correct.

Review: Have bought several of these Cicerone guide books. All very clear and well produced with basic sketch maps of areas and routes ( obviously needs to be used with proper map of the area )

Review: I bought this book to help me to plan day walks during a week in the Pyrenees. However I did not find the book useful for several reasons. Firstly, each walk is only described in writing, with no map showing the route of the walk. Other Cicerone walking books have maps showing the route of each of the walks, which makes it easy to visualise the walk and load it on my GPS app. Secondly, a large number of the walks seem to be sections of longer routes, from one refuge to another refuge, rather than single loop walks which start and finish at the same point and which could be done in a day.
