Title: Great Supplement
Review: I used this book as my primary study guide for the CIPP/US and used the IAPP textbook to supplement this when I should have done it the other way around. This book is much better at providing an overarching outline about how to think about the test materials. I prefer the way this book says out the material but it fell short in some areas in just overall detail. The review questions were all very good but the actual CIPP/US exam is much harder than the review questions. But I don’t fault this book for the ease of the questions, even the practice questions you purchase from IAPP are significantly easier than the actual exam.Overall, I thought this book was a very worthwhile purchase. If I take any more CIPP exams in the future, I will purchase another guide from Mike Chapple. But I will also take a closer look at the IAPP designated materials too. And to his credit, he does say this book is not meant to be the only or primary study guide. This is a great book and worth it as part of the materials used to prepare for the test.

Title: This book is all you’ll need!
Review: Recently passed the CIPP/US certification test using only this book and the online (free) LinkedIn learning course offered by the book’s author Mike Chapple. Prof. Chapple’s materials covered everything you need to know not just to pass the exam but to learn the full scope of US privacy law and regulations and their application. There is no need to spend thousands of dollars on a prep course with this book and the corresponding online materials from the author. Also note the book gives you access to practice exams online to further assist you.

Title: a very useful text for preparing for the CIPP/US certification exam
Review: I was using the IAPP text to prepare for the CIPP/US certification exam but found it dense and dry. Someone recommended Prof. Chapple's text instead and I am very glad I switched. It is much easier to read and digest compared to the IAPP text. Using this text and the accompanying videos on LinkedIn, I was able to take and pass the CIPP/US test on my first attempt. Once I am working in the privacy field I intend to use this text as a resource. Highly recommended.

Title: Excellent Study Guide
Review: This is the perfect study guide for an individual interested in entering the field of privacy. It’s excellent for exam prep, but lacks enough detail on state privacy laws and recent developments. Overall I would recommend it as an excellent introductory and reference tool.

Title: Critical supplement
Review: I just took and passed the exam. I used this study guide a lot, and it was a critical component of my prep. I appreciated te explanations laid out in this text - they are far superior to the IAPP's in my opinion, for many modules. So definitely get the book. I also used the practice questions from this book and their value could not be understated. Yes, the actual exam questions are more difficult and more tricky. But the questions that come with this book are well-thought out and really help to reinforce a variety of core concepts.However, in a word of caution: do NOT skip spending quality time with the IAPP textbook if you want to pass this test. The textbook fills in a lot of key detail. But that said, this book is otherwise THE best study aid out there.

Title: Excellent Study Guide - Very Well Organized
Review: This book is very well organized and was able to keep my attention. It's a great supplement to the official IAPP CIPP/US book. The IAPP book is a very difficult read, so I took this approach:I outlined the laws and US cases in a spreadsheet using the 6 Rules to Studying Laws:1. Why does the law exist and what is it trying to accomplish?2. Who is covered by this law?3. What types of info and what uses of info are covered?4. What exactly is required or prohibited? Exceptions?5. What happens if I don’t comply?6. Governing Body/EnforcementRead each chapter of Mike Chapple's Study Guide, took the 20 question test, then read the corresponding chapters/section in the official IAPP book. This way I was not relying on one resource and was able to retain the information.I passed...you will too! Good Luck!

Title: Don’t Waste Your Money, Buy the IAPP Textbook
Review: The IAPP book is expensive and I just wanted a refresher before I took the exam. But, this book is a meandering and uninformative oversimplification. It spent so much page space outlining irrelevant material and left huge gaps. In law school I used the IAPP CIPP/US textbook for a course so I could tell what was missing even if that textbook was quite outdated. I bought the updated edition from IAPP. Spend more to get it from the source, don’t waste your money.
