Review: i wanted to up grade my shotguns for better performance and easier and more reliable use if ever needed for home safety. This little book gave me all the information and it was simple yet easy to follow . Look there is an old expression "it is easier to be critical than correct". This is only 5 bucks . If you look at the world as time and effort ration to cost when making a purchase this little book is definitively worth it. The time it would take to ask all these question and get solid useful answers that this book answers would cover would take weeks if not months of internet searches. The writer runs a blog /forum that allows you to get more specific if you get stumped on an issue. Now days this kindle addition allows for you to have this on your phone , kindle or ipad as well . my belief is this is definitively worthwhile, GET IT .

Title: Very Good Information!
Review: This is a great guide - concise, thorough and informative, especially for a 'beginner' like me. It has basic information about the shotgun itself, plus many recommendations on accessories that are available. It gives reviews about which accessories are good and not so good. The author has done the testing and work for you so you can avoid making mistakes. An all around well-put-together guide that I can easily recommend.

Review: Hard to know where to begin. The 870 is an undisputed classic by the way Americans make a classic. We buy "'em 'cause we like 'em". Few guns are as well liked as the 870. The M1 Garand or the M1/M2 Carbine are in that class,.(although us old geezers like them for a different reason - selfish nostalgia). Those of us who are fortunate enough to own the latter two (or either one) aren't into modifying them. We generally shoot them. Which says a lot about a couple of old guns. The 870 on the other hand is changeable (I call that flexible) reliable, (now you're back to thinking of the M1 Garand), useable in so many ways and in any weather. With all this said, V. Pedchenko's guide is an absolute wonder. It provides the link to so much information from so many perspectives. Novice shooters to long term experts will find much to appreciate there. The level of detail is excellent. The span of information is formidable. Nothing else like it. Top flight sir!Roger Funk

Title: Expansive but vague
Review: This resource provides a good starting point to maintaining and modifying the remington 870, a venerable shotgun that absolutely deserves all the praise it gets. While this ebook is broad, it's far from deep. You need to think of this book as a starting point and not a "one stop solution," simply because the photos and instructions are kind of vague. This is not necessarily a bad thing, mind you. Vitaly, the author, draws from his vast knowledge of the 870 and recommends products that work, steers you away from dogs, and gives you basic primers on using a tactical shotgun in threat scenarios. He also gives a rookie- friendly discussion of chokes, loads, and firearm safety.Personally, I was somewhat disappointed at the lack of detail this guide provides on basic maintenance and common fixes and upgrades. I would've liked to have seen more detailed step-by-step instructions including better photos, more parts diagrams, and more tips and tricks. The book doesn't stand on it's own in this sense. To test it, I gave my 870 to a friend unfamiliar with it and asked him to follow the step-by-step instructions to break down the gun, remove the trigger group, forend, etc. He wasn't able to do it. However, in part 2 of the test, I showed him some instructional videos on youtube, and he had no problem following them. To me, that was a bit telling. Hopefully a future addition will address the need for clearer, more detailed steps in the maintenance and repair section. As it stands now, it's not very useful except as a conceptual overview. In sum: buy if you're new to tactical shotguns, as the book has some great advice on products and improvements. This alone is worth the purchase price as it steered me to components that might have slipped off my radar if I was left to peruse the interwebs for details. But yes, as others have pointed out, all of this info is available online for free, often with a much greater level of detail to boot.

Title: The single most extensive guide I've ever seen
Review: The author of this guide, Vitaly Pedchenko, is a professional shooter, he's a range officer which also participates in shotgun competitions around the world, he has been doing this for years.Guys, this man is the real deal, and he knows his stuff.Vitaly did an absolutely superb job creating this guide, there is so much work put into it, that it really is on a league of it's own when comparing to other guides I've seen.I literally can't think of a single aspect regarding the R870 which was not thoroughly covered in this guide, anything from the smallest parts to the most advanced add-ons and mods. This guide covers all the different usages of the gun, who carries it and for what. There are plenty of useful tips regarding safety, maintenance, ammunition, shooting and so on, like I said nothing was left out.Rest assure you imagination will not have to work too hard, this guide is conveniently covered with high quality pictures showing nearly everything being discussed so you get a very good idea of how things look beyond the text. This is a guide you will keep coming back to for reference, it's that useful. Definitely a must have for any fan.
