Title: High Quality, Performance at a Reasonable Price
Review: My first MD. Based on reviews and the reputation of Minelab®️ Company I went the extra cost difference to purchase. As a Design Engineer I found everything easy to assemble and ergonomically sound. The MD science, though ostensibly simple in concept, is more complex in practice. Therefore I highly recommend that you download and print the pdf manual and also purchase Andy Sabisch’s book, both of which I did. The Company I purchased it from, Detector Deals, made sure it was well packaged and came quickly. There have been some concern of a few as to the ‘robustness’ of the 3 segment shaft. I’m not using it as a sledge hammer, so everything should be fine. Just-the-same, I may want to upgrade to an aftermarket carbon fiber replacement as I think this quality product deserves the best fixture. Now all I need now is for the snow to melt. Enjoy!

Title: There are a few thing I don't like about it but performance is not one of them.
Review: Its a little heavy in the coil and I don't like the skid plate on the coil it catches a lot of sand at the beach. These issues I don't think bother most people. But it is the best performing detector that I have owned hands down. I have been detecting for 35 years now. And I would definitely buy it again and have recommended it to others.

Title: Superb and very sensitive machine.
Review: On my first day of use, I found an old coin on a beach. More importantly and on the same beach, I found a 4-inch long spike that would have done a number on someone's foot this summer. That alone made it totally worth the cost. I look forward to many more fruitful and fun days of use.

Title: Ya it's that good. Multi frequency or stay home
Review: Was looking at the AT max, but decided to nut up and get the NoX 800. LoL it's not a detector it's a magnet. I rated ease of use a 2 because it's hella complex. I had it a week had a 14k ring, a 928 silver, 2 other toe rings, army collar insignia, slot of clad/non clad coins lol ALOT, live .40 cal. Acp bullet. But then you play with the modes, watch programs on YouTube you get lost in it. It's easy to instantly find things ( I rented Garrett's ace 400 1 day that's my prior experience FYI then bought the NoX 800 ) but this machine goes so much farther the more you learn. Just spend the lil bit more you won't regret it.

Title: Don't buy the pin pointer!!
Review: The detector itself is great. But the pinpointer ... don't waste your hard earned money. I've only used it about 6 times (only had it for 31 days), and it is already malfunctioning(shuts off when it gets a signal). So now I have to send it in for repair, which I have to pay for shipping. Not happy.

Review: I used this water resistant netal detector Equinox 800 on the weekend and was completely satisfied with performance, just wish I knew how to use it...I will learn though, it looks somewhat easy. Completely satisfied with Metalix metal detectors. 5 star outfit in my books!

Review: I got my first Radio Shack detector, which was really a toy, when I was about 10 and found heaps of nails, pull rings and a few coins. Whilst I've always been interested in getting into detecting, I collect coins and the amateur archaeologist in me loves the idea of hunting for old things in the ground, I didn't get another detector for more than 30 years. 4 years ago I bought another department store type detector and took the kids out to some virgin historical sites and managed to find some reasonably old coins and loads of iron trash, and I was reinfected with the detecting bug.Over the last couple of months, after watching a bunch of YouTube videos of guys detecting in the UK, pulling all sorts of amazing coins and artefacts out of the ground, I decided to get myself a decent professional unit. The country I live in currently really doesn't have anyone doing any detecting, in fact, other than the toy variety, you can't even buy a new detector here at all - they're just not sold. So I did a search on Amazon and found the Minelab Equinox 800. I was able to get in contact with a few of the YouTuber experts, who were very prompt and helpful in answering my questions and providing advice and they all agreed the Equinox 800 was the way to go. So, feeling confident, I hit the "Buy Now" button and waited impatiently for my new toy to arrive. While I waited I watched a few introductory videos for the 800 on YouTube and learnt how to set it up and use it so I could start using it straight out of the box when it arrived.10 days later it arrived and I was itching to get out into the field. My first attempt was a sandy seaside park and in under half an hour I had found $1.20 in change, a toy car, the music maker from a music box and a few bits of unidentifiable copper or brass (which could have been mangled bullet casings as I was detecting alongside a WW2 era pill box and near a colonial era fort). One of the coins I found was buried 10-15cm down (a small 20c piece about the size of your thumbnail) and the toy car was even deeper, and the 800 picked them up no problem at all.My second attempt a few days later, was at a WW2 battlefield where I hoped I might find some bullet shells, coins, badges etc. The site was full of signals, just about every swing of the 800 picked up something and a lot of it was at maximum depth. As I only had a hand trowel and the soil was quite rocky I decided to ignore the deep signals and just focus on targets at about the 2 to 3 bar mark. Unfortunately, apart from a rusty lump of steel that could have been war related, all I got for my trouble were pull rings, foil, bottle caps and sore knees. When I get myself a long handled shovel I think I'll go back and try again.Anyway, whilst I've only had it for a couple of weeks (I'll be taking it out again tomorrow to another beach), I am impressed with the Equinox 800 and the rest of the kit that came with it. I was surprised at the depth at which it was easily picking up signals - I doubt my old detector would have found the coin or the car - and, whilst I'm still learning the different settings, the preset functions make it really easy to use whilst the manual options give you the versatility, when you know what you're doing, to change the settings to suit your situation and type of targets you're looking for.The Pro Find 35 pinpointer is great, although I do wonder if it could benefit from having a slightly higher sensitivity setting as mostly it only went off when I was almost touching the target making it a bit difficult to know where to dig for some of the deeper targets. The wireless headphones also do the job nicely and whilst I had to look online for pairing instructions as initially I couldn't pair them with the 800, found out I needed to factory reset them, once they were paired they have connected quickly to the detector each time I have turned them on.Check out some of the numerous introductory and testing videos on the Equinox 800 on YouTube to get a better idea of what it can do before you purchase it, I was amazed by one guy who could tell what denomination of coin he had targeted just by the sound his 800 made and the strength of the signal, and he got every one right! So far I give the Equinox 800 two thumbs up and 5 stars, it's met and even exceeded my expectations in every way so far.
