Darrin Scott Isaac’s Requiem was written for and dedicated to Father John Beitans—a Catholic priest, mentor, and dear friend of the composer. This piece is a sensitive rendition of the traditional sacred text, composed in the style of Taize music. Each of the twelve movements are imbued with allusions to renaissance polyphony and American hymnody along with their Taize afflatus.
