Title: Good Product but be careful when installing
Review: I received 2 of these risers and have installed them in anticipation of future surgery recovery. The product itself is straightforward. It is a solid polyethylene waxy-like material that is well molded and fits my Kohler elongated toilets perfectly. The bottom side of the unit has thin pads to cushion it against the top rim of the bowl and to minimize slipping. The hardware was good quality - 2 bolts which are long enough to reach thru any toilet mount and 2 wing nuts. Instructions are minimal so I would like to offer some advice from experience:1. The mounting area of the unit where the bolt holes are located seems contoured up and if you tighten the bolts securely, the front of the unit lifts a tiny bit from the front of the bowl. If the bolts are tight, this would add some amount of strain to the mounting area and in extreme cases might cause the toilet to crack. So, I added 2 flat washers between the unit and the bowl rim to make sure the strain of a seated person did not strain the mount.2. I also added 2 nylon washers (other materials like hard rubber could be used) between the wing nuts and the bottom of the toilet mount area. Just to protect the toilet from any cracks.The supplied hardware uses a flat blade screwdriver and most of the toilet seat hardware use phillips head so you will need large drivers of both type. Keep the flat blade handy for a few days to tighten the screws as you use it and until they set in.Clean and save your original hardware so you can use it again if this is a temporary situation. Overall, a very suitable product and easy enough for anyone to install with a little patience.

Title: More helpful than expected!
Review: This riser prevents your kneecaps from being as high as your belly-button while you’re sitting on the throne. I’m six-foot-two and never thought about seat height until I had a gout attack in my knees. This spacer makes it easier to rise after you’ve done your business.It was easy to install except that the original seat mounting holes on your wood or plastic seat will need to be slightly enlarged to fit the heavy-duty mounting bolts that come with this kit. I used a taper-reamer to enlarge mine, but a drill would also have worked.The larger bolts are necessary to keep the spacer and the toilet seat aligned, but once tightened, the seat is highly stable. This seems to be a well-designed and well-made product. I’ve just ordered a second one for my master bathroom.

Title: Seat height is right for me - 5'9", male, and old. . .
Review: I was somewhat reluctant to install this high rise seat. But i did install it within a few hours after I received it. The reluctance was because it would be too high for my 4' 10" wife. She was ultimately ok with it because we had riser steps, bought months before or Amazon, that she can use is she wants to use it.It made it much easier for me to manage a catheter that I had to keep inserted for a month as the height was perfect, keeping the tubing out of the water, and the seating comfortable. Sitting on the stool and getting off of it was easier as was number two.Definitely glad I bought and installed it. If you're short you need one of lesser rise (thickness).

Title: Game Changer!
Review: I had knee replacement surgery and when trying to use the loo, it was a quite a bit lower than I thought it was. As soon as I received this seat riser, it was on the loo and I didn't have to worry about trying to get up anymore! Life saver, knee saver!

Title: Had to improvise
Review: The instructions with this item make it look very simple to install which it is not. They tell you to slide the long bolts down thru the rear mounting hinges of the toilet seat. They should be aware that toilet seats aren't made that way anymore. They either come with plastic bolts that are integrated into the hinge or plastic bolts that get installed first and the hinge attaches to them with a twist locking mechanism. I had the latter. I had to drill holes through the top of the locking mechanism then insert the bolts. This item should come with long plastic bolts that can replace the ones on the toilet seat. Instead it comes with cheap metal bolts that will probably rust over time. Time will tell if it holds up the way I installed it but you shouldn't have to jerryrig a product right out of the box.

Title: Easy to install
Review: Made very sturdy, easy to install and easy to clean. Do wish they came in 2 and half inch height for those of us with shorter legs. I got the 3 and half and sit with my toes barely touching the floor. I do recommend this riser for those at least 5'6' tall for more comfort.
