Title: Excellent, quick read!
Review: Full disclosure: the author gifted me a kindle copy of her book in exchange for my reading and reviewing it. I don't do a lot of book reviews, but I would have done one for this book even if I had paid for it. It is a great, quick read (I think I covered it in 2 nights). It is chock full of helpful hints and suggestions for those of us who represent Social Security disability claimants, whether we are attorneys or certified reps (I am one of the latter). I am always looking for ways to improve myself so that I can more effectively assist my clients. This book will definitely help me there, and in turn will help the clients I represent now and in the future. Thank you Lisa for the book!

Title: A Clear & Comprehensive Guide to Disability Law
Review: As an outsider with no experience in any type of law, I was interested in this book out of general curiosity and former experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.I'm impressed because, to be honest, I thought it would be a struggle to follow and grasp the material. Instead, I really enjoyed it and it drew me in. The writing is smart â it is clear, concise, educational and practical.I appreciate the mix of business advice (how to improve operations, increase profits, optimize processes), case management tips, information/document sharing, and client stories sprinkled in along the way.I am confident that those in the field will finish with some practical ideas to implement as a result of reading Lisa's book!

Title: Enlightening
Review: As someone who has applied for Disability myself, I was interested to read this book and gain a better understanding of the process. The author writes clearly in an easily-digestible manner, including anecdotes along the way. Not exactly a page-turner but then again it doesnât have to be.

Title: a must read for all disability representatives
Review: I've been a disability benefits attorney since 1994. This book will benefit both experienced representatives and representatives who are new to the field. Ms. Palmer provides information about issues that I think about every day. She is very clear about which statements are fact and which are opinion. I was very interested in reading her opinions about issues that practitioners face every day. She provides clear reasons for all of her office policies and for the methods that she uses to win cases.

Title: Clear Summary of Social Security Disability Decision Making Process
Review: The Social Security disability decision making process is unnecessarily opaque and confusing. Lawyers thinking about entering this area of practice would be wise to check out this easily readable but complete summary. Author Lisa McNair Palmer offers practical tips about each step of the decision making process and identifies traps to avoid. I regularly speak at CLE seminars covering beginning and intermediate SSD practice and I will be recommending this book to my students.

Title: Quick read/general things to know.
Review: I bought this book to prepare for an interview as an attorney in this field. I think if packed about as much as it could into a 70-or-so page book, but it only scratches the surface. I'm glad I bought it because it provided a nice overview while at the same time, it wasn't so expensive that it would be a waste of money should I not be hired for the position (employment at the firm still pending at the time of this writing).
