Title: Great value for a quality Radar Detector from Escort.
Review: I have been an Escort customer since 1982 with the original passport. This new Max 3 does not disappoint. It has excellent range especially on the all important KA bands and it is extremely quiet to false alarms once the GPS gets ahold of the false signals around town. I tested it against my Uniden R-4 and it responds neck and neck with it. It does a great job with the vehicles that emit K band like Hondas Mazdas and such. The Unidens are OK but the quality is lacking. The Escort Max 3 feels substantial in your hand. I also had a speaker fail in my R-1 and both the R-1 and R-3 have faded display issues. I will run the R-4 in dark mode to prevent any fading screen. I Highly recommended Escorts Max 3 for all your radar monitoring needs.

Title: Works great (once I removed my dash cam that caused interferrence) with internal GPS of Detector!
Review: Device's Internal GPS was sporattically working... Not showing actual speed even when such option was clearly selected and also not allowing to "Mark" police/traffic/and other annoyances via the GPS.Removed my Dash Cam and the Escort's GPS worked fully. I had to trouble shoot myself multiple times (Online Support) was WORTHLESS both Amazon and Escort's "Support" I must add.Once the seperate Dash Cam was disconnected/removed the GPS and Vehicle's Speed Indicator started to work everytime the Vehicle/Radar Detector was turned on and the Blue-Tooth connection (set to immediate) linked up and within 3-4 seconds after turning the ignition to On. Once Device Option(s) and Settings were set to my liking and travel needs everything is accurate, with early warning, and both marking trouble spots myself visually and receiving "Community" warnings works as expected.

Title: Dependable and functional
Review: It picks up laser and K bands and doesn’t give false alerts. It saved me from a ticket as a speed trap was approximately 1/2 mile away. The PoPo was hidden behind trees but I got alerted and resumed posted speed!!!

Title: Great radar detector
Review: This is a great radar detector for the money. I coupled it with the escort dash cam. Gives good warning with ample distance to adjust your speed. Highly recommended it.

Title: Best radar yet! Slick Design!
Review: I own the old escort radar detector and it still works great. This one is way better because it's not annoying, the beep sound is cool! It also connects to an app where you can see or mark cameras or laser detections. It's way more advanced than my old escort. You can select the frequencies, change the color on the detector, see the current speed, and see the current speed limit.I like the window mount suction cup and how it is magnetic so you can easily take it off. The cord is nice but a little to short. I have a feeling the Ethernet end may rip out in the future and will have to buy a new cord because that's happened with the other cords I bought. The app is easy but the only thing I dislike is how you can't enter in the address, you have to click on a point on the map to go to that address. I wish they would update the app so you can enter in an address and shows directions as you drive like Google Maps, then it would be perfect! Regardless I still love this detector!

Title: Excellent waste of time!
Review: I purchased this mainly to have a radar detector that would be concealed and out of sight to other drivers and not have red flashing lights from the detector visible. I thought the direct wire remote with mute button would be a solution. I was wrong... First issue was that the mounting bracket would not provide enough room to be above the rearview mirror where the windshield has factory tinting 6" from the top. The radar detector 12 volt plug would be impossible to hide with a short cord to the 12 volt lighter/ accessory socket. I installed the direct wire mute display module and downloaded the drive smarter app and drove as usual with my $200 radar detector still mounted above the mirror and the new Escort mounted as high as possible on the left side of the mirror. The Escort volume was so low it was not possible to clearly hear the voice alerts or tones. And it was constantly alerting with red led lights, and beeping and the direct wire mute display was useless. And my other radar detector was silent. I did pass a county patrol car with radar and the Escort detected it after my other detector (a few seconds slower). And I knew I would be returning the Escort, and remote display I took the time to install. Also uninstalled the drive smarter app that was constantly on draining my cell phone battery. I packed it up and sent it back requesting a refund and will keep using my original radar detector, knowing that it performs 100% better than the Escort performed. I guess you don't always get what you pay for when it comes to radar detectors.

Title: All you need to protect yourself
Review: After trying a uniden R8 for 2 weeks (see my comments under Uniden R8) and returning it due to too many un necessary arrows crappy learning features, excessive false signals etc. I went back to Escort and purchased the Max3 and used it on my 1600 mile round trip from southwest Florida to Knoxville, Tn and back. This unit is all you need and costs less than half. It appears to learn fast, minimal false alarms, plug and play built quality seems ok. It did a great job keeping money out of the coffers of the state of Georgia and it’s over enforcement of speeders by its storm troopers. I am not a techno guru but have had radar detectors for over 20 years (Escort X50)and I am judging as someone who travels at 90 MPH + regularly and bottom line is that as a regular person, you don’t need anything more than this and the WAZE AP. Arrows? I personally chill at the point of getting an alert, you? Or do you evaluate based on location before taking your foot of the accelerator pedal? Only complaint is that on my Lexus GX 460, the letters are a bit small due to the distance between my sitting position and the unit on the windshield. I will see how the letter size looks in my Porsche 997.2 as it’s much closer. Speed doesn’t cause accidents, not driving to road conditions and stupid drivers who hog the left lane causing drivers to maneuver around them does but that is obviously rarely enforced. Happy motoring.

Review: Definitely worth the money over a cheaper radar detector but still not breaking the bank for everything you need in a radar detector compared to the $1000+ options

Review: short range

Review: I’ve owned a number of detectors. I’ve loved previous Escort models, but this one has a short detection range, and most problematic is the enormous number of false alerts…many of which will keep beeping for miles. I had to unplug and plug back in to “try” to get it to stop. Often this takes several attempts. My firmware is up to date. I’ve even tried suggested setting adjustments from online sources. Not much success. This is either a faulty unit or this is a poorly made model.

Review: Highly disappointed with this radar detector. Doesn’t learn anything. Or go off when needed. But will go off on the middle of the country where nothing is around. One of the more expensive and still got a ticket and detector didn’t even go off. I’ve two cheaper ones that worked a whole lot better.

Customers say

Customers appreciate the radar detector's functionality and value for money. They find it performs well, especially with K band vehicles like Hondas and Mazdas. Many consider it a simple plug-and-play device that does not receive any tickets. The range and suction cup mount are also praised. However, some customers have mixed opinions on the alarm level, radar detection, speed, and noise level.
