Review: Liked it so much that I purchased another one for the friend that is traveling with me to Alaska. Full of quick useful information. I have always liked Fodor's travel books. This was no exception. Highly recommend it.

Title: Very helpful
Review: We had already picked out our cruise but we're looking for information on the various ports and excursions. This book gives a good overview of cruising in general, the differences between the ships, and highlights in each port. I feel prepared for our cruise and am looking forward to it.

Title: Should come with magnifying glass
Review: Really nice info book. But, they crammed so much information in the paperback book that the type is so small you need a magnifying glass to read it. This should have been a full size book to enjoy all the details. Several maps, which were helpful, were printed on two pages with the page folds blocking part of the map?

Review: This is perfect if you havenât booked your cruise yet, and youâre still looking into going to Alaska. I was hoping that this book would have a little bit more in-depth information for all the ports of call. Things such as activities, hiking trails, solo activities. This book does have a lot of good information, half of the book is also reviewing different cruise lines and different ships that sail to Alaska, which I wasnât interested in after booking my cruise.

Review: Most of the guide describes the different cruise ships sailing to Alaska - which is useless. Information about destinations is super limited and the book is weirdly structured. For example the section about Sitka is cut off in the middle of a sentence to add in a section on Alaskaâs glaciers. The sentence then continues a few pages later.

Review: This book is not worth buying if you're looking for information and guidance about cruise ports of Alaska.50% of the book is about how to book a cruise, what different cruise lines operate in Alaska and their various merits.Only 50% is actually about ports that you might visit, and one of the ports we will soon be visiting isn't even mentioned....Icy Strait Point, and this port is actually largely owned and developed by a few cruise lines !!!Some good maps are helpful. But avoid this book, is my advice.

Review: This book would be good for anyone who has not cruised before and have not decided on a cruise line. Half the book is information on going on a cruise and an overview of the various cruise lines that go to Alaska. If you have cruised before its just information you don't need. The other half of the book outlines the various cruise ports and points of interest. There is very little actual information about Alaska itself. While I am a fan of Fodor's travel books, this wasn't one of them. It could have been half the size and cost a whole lot less.
