Title: NOT A DIET PLAN, BUT A SMART, WELL WRITTEN AND EASY TO READ PERSPECTIVE ON WHAT YOU SHOVE IN YOUR PIE HOLE!
Review: I'm not old, but I am getting older. I am realizing that the things I ate/drank with abandon in my twenties aren't things I can continue with the same way in my thirties (if at all). I am more conscious of how my body operates depending on how I treat it with food and exercise (or with bad food and little or no exercise). Make no mistake, this is NOT A DIET book. But it IS a really smart book that gives you a wonderful perspective on your body and how food can help or harm it in very relatable terms. It will make sense to anyone who reads it and it's so easy to read (approachable) that I almost finished it in one night! The magazine like pages are great. This book really helped me think about what I was shoving in my pie hole! And now I understand why I was feeling some of the things I felt after eating some of the things she talks about in her book! McKeith keeps things real. I bought this for myself and liked it so much I ordered 4 more copies and sent them as gifts. DEFINITELY WORTH BUYING AND READING. So very happy I bought it and the people I bought copies for told me they can't wait to start reading it too.

Title: Excellent Book!
Review: I bought this book way back when it first came out. Lost it, though, when I moved.I was very happy to see that I could still get it. There is SO MUCH USEFUL INFORMATION in it that if you are not sure what is considered healthy, not healthy, etc., you should buy this book.

Title: It's a good book. Really easy to follow
Review: It's a good book. Really easy to follow, the suggestions that Dr. McKeith makes our logical, rational, and simple. I enjoyed going through the book, and I have used some of the recommendations. If you are putting all your hopes into this book, I would suggest you focus your priorities towards exercising. The book isn't going to make anything happen for, you need to make things happen for yourself. Also, if you are looking to lose weight or get healthy I would suggest that you start with a DNA test from 23andme. The DNA test that I took from 23andme, not only gave me information about my ancestors but it also gave me some information about my body; such as, my body is the type that Best response to exercise that incorporates short bursts of sprints, also my body type thrives on Mediterranean diets. So, in combination with the DNA test and a few things borrowed from this book I was able to get better results.

Title: Gillian Rocks!
Review: This is the book based on the BBC program "You Are What You Eat". The book is very good and has all the bases covered. It's like having Gillian with you as you read and absorb her advice on how to eat better. I found it to be sound and helpful advice in choosing what foods to actually eat for maximum results. I don't follow all the advice but I certainly have stepped up on eating better with better choices because of this book. It has opened my eyes to the simple fact that you really are what you eat...so do something about it! It's that easy...put down the doughnut and get off your duff and start enjoying life again. You will start to appreciate fruits and vegetables and what they do for you! It really does make a difference. I feel so much better since getting this book and opening up my eyes to better choices in my diet. I now look for different fruits and vegetables when I grocery shop just to try something completely different.

Title: Healthy Eating Worldwide
Review: It always amazes me how we take a different approach to healthy eating here in the US in comparison to countries abroad. In this book, Gillian McKeith shares some of the secrets of healthy eating in Europe. She is well aware of the eating habits of the American people as she lived her for a while before returning to Europe. She provides a very interesting approach to improving dietary habits for a healthier life. Yet, some of the items that she introduces are foreign. She provides helpful tips for incorporating new food items and products into the diet. She also provides suggestions on cleansing the body for optimal performance. I found the book interesting. I will certainly implement a few of her tips into my daily regimen of food consumption. Overall, the book is good for the person that is interested in living a healthier life. It deserves a spot on the shelf for everyone that is looking for varied knowledge in nutrition education as well as new skills and dietary practices.

Title: Book was in great condition
Review: Didn't quite know what to expect but found that this is a book that serves to be one I will use to look up what ailments I have and what the author suggests that one can eat or have in tea form to help with that ailment.

Title: At Last....A Plan That Works!
Review: I had just about given up on losing weight and decided that at 53 I was what I was...until I saw "You Are What You Eat" on BBC America. After watching Gillian McKeith take people who ate a diet far, far worse than mine and turning their life around in just 8 weeks, I thought, "Why not try it?" I began using just the material I had gotten from the programs. I copied recipes and bought a juicer (A Breville Ikon 900, which by the way, is fantastic!). I anticipated missing many of my favorite foods, but thought I would give it a shot. After the first three days I missed nothing. I eat a variety of grains....quinoa, brown rice, amaranth, millet, loads of veggies, fruits, nuts, and fish a couple times a week. In two months I have lost a total of 21 pounds, 16 of which were body fat pounds, and have reduced my bust, waist and hip measurements by 12.5 inches. I exercise 1/2 hour a day 6 days a week (a mixture of Pilates and a gym circuit workout) but before I had no energy to exercise. Now I look forward to it. I have also decreased my glucose readings from 115 before the eating plan to 90 currently. Her premise is that after your body weight stabilizes you need only follow her course 80% of the time and can indulge yourself the other 20%.I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who has become discouraged with other plans. Make a two month commitment to yourself and give Gillian a try!

Review: An avid watcher of the TV series back in the early 2000s, this book literally changed my life. Overweight from about 11 years old, in my early 20s I became even more overweight, sometimes losing a little weight, sometimes gaining more back.Read numerous times from cover to cover, I absorbed every inch of this incredible book. I took supplements to help with a few ailments I had which improved them dramatically and the bonus, I lost 6 stone in weight with very little effort and my only exercise was walking for at least an hour a day (due to a damaged spine). In 2003 I weighed 16 stone and by mid 2004 I was 8 stone. I stayed 8 stone for years with no effort at all. Just eating the plethora of foods from the abundance list, walking every day and taking vitamin supplements.Sadly cut to 2010 and I stopped being so vigilant in my health. Then I had a baby and cravings sent me into a sugary downward spiral, and I paid the price in my weight and overall health. So I repurchased the book since I couldn’t find my old one and am on the path to rectify the last ten years of damage I’ve done to my health. In just one week I’m feeling better, my rosacea which felt like someone had blowtorched my face is 90% cleared up and I’m eating and enjoying food so much more.I’ll never understand why Gillian McKeith would get the flack she did, because her strategy for health is life changing.I’m so excited to be back to the vitality, energy, optimal health and weight. It’s going to be a long haul as I’m starting from square one again, but I know I can do it and I’m more determined than ever.Thank you Gillian
